Historical

Born December 19, 1949 Chari CRUZ was the only daughter of a sibling of six children…

In 1985, Chari CRUZ founded the APAP (Protective Association of Animals and Plants) in Tossa de Mar. She began working for the protection of animals, initially, in her own apartment. Having obtained land in the municipality of Tossa-de-Mar (Spain), she has built the infrastructures to welcome and care for abandoned animals.

Over the years, her energy and dynamism have made the association known well beyond the region.

A little shop was born.

Obstinate by nature, she made things to move. Among other things, her fight against the sacrifice of animals in the name of “tradition” was successful.

In 2000, an illness removed her from the affection of her relatives and residents, which would have marked the end of this refuge, if her brother Michel CRUZ and his wife had not resumed the Fighting.

Michel CRUZ, created in 2002, in tribute to his sister, a new entity under the name of  “Fondacio CHARI CRUZ”.
